A case study - The enniskillen gift card

Background

Hype & Holler runs the digital advertising campaigns for Experience Enniskillen and their flagship Enniskillen Gift Card.

This is a gift card that can only be spent in participating shops in Enniskillen thus locking the money into the local economy.

Year on year since 2018 the Gift Card has experienced growth in sales and became the biggest selling gift card of its kind in the UK in 2020. 

For all our digital advertising we kept four key messages to the forefront of all our campaigns.

Four Key Messages

  • Local

    The Gift Card supports local businesses. For our campaigns we wanted to tap into local community spirit and the value of 'supporting local'.

  • Trusted

    The Gift Card is administered by local people and used in local shops. In our campaigns we emphasised the peace of mind that came with a purchase of a Gift Card

  • Choice & Convenience

    In our campaigns we promoted the fact that over 120 businesses are signed up to the Gift Card, offering the customer choice. The Gift Card can be purchased in either shops in Enniskillen or online and this flexibility was also something built into our campaigns.

  • Destination

    We heavily promoted Enniskillen as destination to those outside of the region. We sold Enniskillen as a relaxing yet vibrant retreat wit a Gift Card as the perfect companion!
